The Pingles Leisure Pool is a new and exciting addition to the leisure facilities of Nuneaton and Bedworth.
The leisure pool has been configured to extract the maximum benefit from the space available. The aim has been to create leisure facilities to appeal to different ages and in particular attract young people to swimming activities. The children’s area is safe, shallow water with fun water features. Water depths vary from approximately 300mm to 900mm deep along the glazed external wall at the far side of the leisure pool.
There is a ramped access to the leisure pool for children and disabled people, which wraps around the bubble pool. The leisure pool itself divides into two main areas. Approximately half of the leisure pool area has a gently shelving pool base from 300 – 900mm water depth. This area links directly into the slightly deeper water area adjacent to the café terrace, which has water depths of 600 – 900mm so it can be used for swim teaching. This area also incorporates geysers and finger jets to add fun when not being used for teaching purposes. In addition at the deepest part of the pool, linking the two main areas together there is a full 25m swimming lane which can be used for either community swimming or warm up/cool down during events.

The leisure pool links directly to a small outdoor pool enabling people to swim between the two. Transparent flexible plastic flaps act as a door to the outdoor water and will prevent excessive heat loss and cold draughts within the leisure pool. The outdoor pool has a number of geysers and airbeds and has a lounging terrace forming a promontory overlooking the park.
The Outdoor Pool is the only heated all weather outdoor pool in the area and is open all the year round. Come rain or shine the Outdoor pool will be open to the public as stated in the pool programme. The only exception to this is during an electrical storm the Outdoor Pool and Leisure Pool will close until the storm has passed, this is due to the risk of a lightening strike.
