Competition Pool

The state of the art 25m 8-lane competition pool has all the mod cons to meet the requirements of a regional level competition pool. This includes a moveable floor across four lanes running the full length of the pool allowing the depth to be varied from deck level to 2 metres (the full depth of the pool.) This provides the ideal venue for major competitive swimming galas. and the pool is used by Nuneaton & Bedworth Swimming Club.

The 8-lane 25m pool is capable of being subdivided into a range of pool sizes and water depth combinations to maximise programming flexibility and multi-use. A longitudinal floating floor across half of the pool provides the required flexibility allowing:

• Additional area for dry activities when the floor is brought to the surface
• 150mm depth for mothers and toddler sessions.
• 300 – 800mm depths for learning to swim programme.
• 600 – 800mm depths for swimming development training and schools use.
• 800 – 1500mm depth for general recreational swimming.
• 1500 – 2000mm depth for racing-dive practice, life saving, synchronised swimming and competitive swimming.
• Easy pool access for wheelchair users. In addition a disabled persons hoist is also incorporated.

The Omega electronic timing system offers accurate timing for the major events which can record qualifying times for swimmers competing in designated galas. All the times are displayed on the digital scoreboard and printed off on the race results printer.

The far side of the pool has an increased width of pool surround of 3500mm to cater for competitors during events. In addition there are two permanent rows of competitor bench seating with a capacity of 100 – 150 persons in between the structural columns.

The Competition Pool is the ideal environment in which to enjoy an undisturbed swim with swimming lanes being provided throughout the day.

There is poolside spectator seating for up to 350 people, poolside seating for swimmers and easy access for wheelchair users.

The centre has over 200 free parking spaces at the centre and good dropping off facilities for coaches.
