Nuneaton & Bedworth Leisure Trust (NBLT) opened the doors of Pingles Leisure Centre & Bedworth Leisure Centre last weekend for FREE and everyone had a fantastic day!
The Open Day hoped to help as many members of the public as possible get their leap year off the ground, and with taster sessions of the 2008 class timetable full, special offer gym memberships flying off the shelves, and the pools busy all day – Sunday was a definite success.
Mike Maybury, Head of Marketing & Promotion was very pleased with the day – “The idea of Sunday was to help people try something new, give them an opportunity to see what our facilities offer, and to make it fun. I think we succeeded; our centres were full all day with people not only having a good time but also enjoying exercise. The fact that we offered everything for FREE really helped us promote healthier lifestyles.”
Sunday’s event saw every part of the leisure centre’s being used, including the tennis courts, athletics track, and even a bouncy castle in Bedworth Leisure Centre’s squash court! The open day is the first of many different projects NBLT are planning this year, all with the same remit – to encourage exercise, physical activity, and sport, for all ages, abilities, and tastes. Look out for more special offers, and events for 2008. Four lucky winners have already taken away a years FREE Gold Membership to NBLT Health & Fitness Facilities and four lucky children are now part of the NBLT Swimming Development Scheme for FREE!
One enthusiastic visitor to Sundays Open Day commented – “I thought the whole day was brilliant, I have been visiting for 16 years and don’t think I’ve ever seen everyone so happy! I loved the Zumba and PowerPump taster sessions and will certainly be joining!” Kim from Bedworth.
