Nuneaton based Rikki formerly of Nuneaton Swimming club, now swims for City of Coventry under the guidance of Jo Deakins and has just completed his first season with Coventry.
Rikki spent 11 years at Nuneaton S.C. during this period he held county, Midland district titles and also competed in 8 National age-group finals.
Last season 2006/7 Rikki's acheivements in the pol started to be recognised at national level. Rikki successfully secured a place in the England Apprenticeship in Sporting Excellence Programme run by British A.S.A.
In September 2006 Rikki swam for an England regional squad at the 1st UK School's Games in Glasgow. Competing in the 200mtr Backstroke, Individual medley and Freestyle relay picking up a bronze medal.
In November 2006, aged 16 Rikki retained his Midland and District Mens Open 200mtrs Backstroke title.
In March 2007 He swam at the British championships in the 400 mtrs Individual Medley and the 200 mtrs Backstroke improving his National ranking to 6th.
In June 2007 Rikki attended a British Training camp with the A.A.S.E Programme in Slovenia.
At the National championships 2007, Rikki swam a life time best finishing 4th in the final of the 17/18 years 200 mtrs Backstroke and 7th in the 400 mtrs Freestyle final.
Following the English schools finals in October 2007, Rikki was selected to swim for the England Team in the Home Nations Schools swimming International, to be held in March 2008.
November 2007 saw Rikki swim at the Midlands short course championships where he picked up a hatrick of titles inthe 50, 100 and 200 metre Open Men's Backstroke events and also 2 silvermedals in the 200 and 400 metre Open mens Freestyle events.
April 2008 Rikki swam at the British Championships/Olympic Trials, held at Sheffield.
On the opening day he produced 2 personal best swims. Rikki lowered his 400 metres freestyle time by 2.5 seconds in a time of 4minutes 3.38 seconds, and then went under the minute barrier on the 100 metres backstroke in 59.78 seconds.
On the third day Rikki swam in his best event the 200 metres backstroke, swimming in a star studded heat, which included Liam Tancock and Gregor Tait. Rikki produced a personal best time of 2.05.84, just 0.38 seconds off the qualifying time for the European Junior GB Squad, and only 4/100th of a second off making the B final.
2008, Rikki picked up his first International Honour swimming for England at the W.I.S.E Swimming International at the K2 pool in Crawley.Rikki was part of a Record breaking Medley Relay team swimming the Backstroke leg picking up a Gold Medal, and in his individual events the 200 metres Backstroke he narrowly missed out on a second Gold by 0.4 of a second to win a silver medal.
