The Leisure Trust would like to introduce our board...

Janet Stubbs - Chair of NBLT

 

Has been committed to Sport and Leisure in Nuneaton and Bedworth in the voluntary sector for well over 25 years, encouraging development and progress.
As Chairman of Nuneaton and Bedworth Sports Forum and Public Relations Officer for Warwickshire ASA has some experience in communication and is up to date on available funding.
Is a life member of Nuneaton and Bedworth Swimming Club, a past President of Coventry and Districts Association of Swimming Clubs and also a past President of Warwickshire ASA.
Has an involvement in Heritage in Nuneaton and Bedworth as Secretary to the Nuneaton Society and is currently a Director of the Chilvers Coton Heritage Centre Trust with specific responsibility for grant funding. During 2005 Janet became a Member of the Executive Board for the Greater Warwickshire Sports Partnership.


Pat Sowter - Vice Chair of NBLT

 

Pat Sowter in 2001 was British Indoor Rowing Champion for his category and became Nuneaton and Bedworth Senior Sports Personality for that year.  He did this by training at the local Leisure Centres which he still regularly uses.  He has a commitment for improving local leisure provision.  He is retired but was a Manager and Director in the Engineering Industry.


Stuart Hall

 

Former local government Chief Officer has awareness of grant regimes and management and decision making practices.
College Governorship and CVS Directorship, experience running efficient meetings and understanding of board management styles.
Shadow Board Member of demised George Eliot Housing Partnership, experienced establishing management and directing team from scratch in a similar context.


Ann Hayes

 

Has been committed to Leisure in the Borough for numerous years in the voluntary sector. As Chairperson for Nuneaton Club for Young People, responsible for funding-raising and the overall development of the facility which now provides extensive facilities for local people. Also plays a key role in the Local Sports Forum as the Vice-Chair and also Chair of the Volunteer Forum.


Rajiv Khanna

 

 Married with one teenage daughter, Raj has lived in Nuneaton for 10 years. He is MD of a Project & Programme Management Training & Consultancy company operating both nationally and internationally. Raj is also a National League Hockey Umpire and a National Umpire Coach.


Richard Dean

 

Richard has been League Secretary of the Nuneaton & Bedworth Minor Football League for past 5 and half years.  He is a retired insurance broker having previously owned a chain of 36 motor insurance offices.
Father to 17 year old twins who currently play for Nuneaton Borough youth team, he represented Staffordshire in rugby and captained Tollgate squash club when living in the Potteries.


John Dolman

 

John was born and has lived in Nuneaton all his life. He has 37 years experience in local government and former chief Officer.
John is fellow of the Chartered Institute of Housing with responsibility for organising and monitoring large contracts and budgets.
John has experience in committee work, corporate governance and extended funding projects. He is also an end user of the Leisure Trusts facilities.


Nathan Williams

 

Nathan has many years experience in the Third Sector and has been heavily involved in Regeneration and Voluntary Sector Development both locally and nationally. He worked at Nuneaton & Bedworth CVS for many years while recently has become manager of VSee Ltd a Not for Profit company (the sister company to Volunteer Centre Nuneaton and Bedworth)He has a degree in Geography & Economics and for the last 10 years has and continues to be involved in The Seagrave Trust a National Charity dealing with the management of addiction and addiction related crime, this work has included organising and managing two international conferences with delegates from around the world while also overseeing contracts with two high security prisons in the United Kingdom. He lives in Nuneaton.


Damon Brown

 

Damon was born in Hartlepool in 1960.
He moved to Bedworth over 20 years ago to help set up the Land Registry office in Coventry and has just completed 25 years service. Damon is an experienced trainer and customer service manager as well as having technical expertise.
He has a keen interest in a variety of sports, In the past competed at road running and cross country at Club level - represented Newcastle Poly at road running and took part in the first ever Great North Run.
Also a keen cyclist at Club level during 1970's and 80's - went 'under the hour' for 25 miles on numerous occasions.
More recently took up ballroom dancing and competed all over the country - made the semi-finals of the British Championships on 2 occasions.
Damon is also a strong swimmer and qualified scuba diver .
