The Sport and Recreation Manager is responsible for management of the Sport and Recreation Team.
Other responsibilities include:
- Develop partnerships across Borough to enhance sport and recreation provision
- Assist in the delivery of the Companies Business Plan
- In partnership with NBBC lead on the delivery and revision of the Sport and Rec Plan
- Support the General Manager and Company Trustee's
- Assist in improving the Quality of Life in the Borough through Sport and Recreation
The Sport and Recreation Team provides a broad range of services under the following areas: -
The Sport & Physical Activity Team provide support, information & activities to assist the community of Nuneaton & Bedworth to live healthy & active lives. We also provide a wide range of advice and assistance to local sporting organisations and other groups developing sports based projects.
- Commitment to the development of Inclusion & Disability Sport.
- Assistance in developing and forming sports clubs.
- Promotion of local sports organisations through our 'Guide to Sports Clubs' booklet.
- 'Walking the way to health' initiative, including recruiting volunteer walk leaders & educating the community on healthy living.
- The Physical Activity Consultant and Lifestyle Consultant are working to educate, support and motivate residents in the benefits of healthy living & exercise.
The Youth Inclusion Team helps to support Young People aged 8 - 24 in a range of settings, by providing sporting activities, guidance and advice on healthy living in the form of workshops, and signposting to local sports clubs and activities.
- Sports and healthy living projects designed to help reduce substance misuse and nuisance behaviour,
- Group & individual referral work supporting young people through sport & health
- Event days such as 'Sport Against Drugs Day' and 'Bedrock'
- Multi-Use Games Areas (MUGAs) sessions, offering activities after school and during school holidays.
- Detached work provides a reactive service to the community to help reduce issues such as nuisance behaviour, by meeting with young people and residents, signposting to local activities/sports clubs.
