Nuneaton & Bedworth Leisure Trust (NBLT) Talented Athletes Programme (TAP) was a hugh success last year and after receiving a wide range of applications from athletes participating in a variety of different sports with ages ranging from 10 to 50 years of age.
Due to the high quality of applications received, the panel met and eventually decided on sponsoring 3 successful applicants and recognising 3 successful applicants. Each applicant receiving financial support.
Daniel started swimming on a Nuneaton and Bedworth ‘Learn to Swim’ Scheme at only 6 years old. Now at the age of 18 he swims for Nuneaton Swimming Club where Club Coach Terry Freeman has helped Daniel move from County level, to District, and now National level, where he has been for the last three years.

Is the youngest athlete on the programme at only 14 years of age. His hard work and determination has paid off as Kyle has excelled in all of the competitions he has participated in and is now a member of the Great Britain elite judo squad

Nuneaton based Rikki, 18, now swims for The City of Coventry swimming club where he is coached by Jo Deakins. Rikki is passionate about his chosen sport and works hard to acheive his goals.

Although Hayley, 19, has only been throwing Hammer for 2 years, she finished last season ranked 1st in Britain.
