The Sport & Physical Activity Team work closely with other organisations to provide high quality Leisure, Play & Sport Opportunities and Health initiatives to benefit the community of Nuneaton & Bedworth.

Head of Sport and Physical Activity 

The Head of Sport & Physical Activity is responsible for the strategic planning for the team. Ensuring the delivery of outputs and actions detailed within the NBLT Business Plan and Sport & Recreation Team Buisness Plan.

The Sports Development Officer (SDO) has many roles and responsibilities to perform, their main aim being to help improve the quality of life in Nuneaton and Bedworth through sport.

The Community Disability Inclusion Officer is committed to a fully inclusive development programme and aims to raise awareness and identify appropriate opportunities for disabled people in Nuneaton and Bedworth.

The Children's Play Officer plans and implemetes full and half day DayCare to support working parents, school holiday Playschemes, and a four week summer holiday activities programme the Great Escape.

Community Walking Officer aims to get more people walking in their own communities, especially those who take little exercise or live in areas of poor health. Walking is set to play a bigger role in creating a healthier nation. Described by health experts as 'almost perfect exercise', walking requires no equipment or expense and is the ideal way for most people to become more active.

The Physical Activity Consultant aims to positively raise the awareness of the benefits of exercise through the promotion of physical activity across the borough with particular emphasis within the socially deprived wards in Nuneaton & Bedworth. Offering informal, friendly advice and assistance on how you can positively benefit from increased physical activity.

The Lifestyle Consultant aims to work with both individuals and groups to encourage change and adopt a healthier lifestyle. Raise peoples awareness of the benefits of not smoking, eating 5 a day and increasing physical activity, to reduce the risks associated with obesity including early onset of coronary heart disease (CHD), some cancers and type 2 diabetes.

The Fundamental Sports Coach mainly coach’s in schools but also has an important role to play within the community delivered sports activities during school holidays.
