 Developing a Disability Section at your club

The Disability Inclusion Officer is available to assist local sports clubs with information on the following topics.

  • Setting up a disability section - where to get started. Providing help with publicity and promotion.
  • Providing  an inclusive sport session and involving disable people in sport – information on including disabled people into mainstream sessions. 
  • Providing an accessible club environment - ensuring that clubs are accessible to all and working to minimum operating standards
  • The Disability Discrimination Act - information on DDA and how your club can make those reasonable adjustments to include disabled people.
  • Funding to improve disability provision - providing access to funding and support with funding bids
  • Workshops and training - Providing training opportunities for coaches and volunteers. Courses include Equity in your coaching, A club for All, Coaching disabled footballers, Coaching disabled athletes. Also delivered annually are Safeguarding and protecting children and First aid.
